This is, for most, the most difficult part of all, but if you follow the instructions you will find it very rewarding to your pocket book.

If you can follow instructions you can succeed in promoting your own web site.

How long does it take to be recognized

Alta Vista--from 2 days to weeks if you don't do it right
Excite--Up to 2 months (they are working on this)
Lycos-- Usually 1 month
HotBot--2 weeks to ?
Infoseek-- 2 min.to? (Don't count on good position, they now sell their top spots)
Magellan-- 1 month sometimes, poor engine and spider
Meta-crawler--Uses other engines and directories (ie-excite,Infoseek, Alta-Vista, Yahoo)
Web-Crawler--uses excite
Aol Netfind--Uses webcrawler (Excite)
Yahoo-- A directory I have been recognized in in as little as 3 days to never. (Must be done right)
