Cruising preparations

BON VOYAGE

The final preparations were underway: The clothes were stowed, the electronics had been tested, the paint was brand new including 3 coats of anti-fouling bottom paint (with cayenne pepper) the rigging was replaced and all was ready, except the crew... It was time for the "Bon Voyage" Due to the limited space aboard "Heidee" we had requested that any gifts should be in the form of canned food (with labels). We dipped them in liquid parafin to seal out the elements and spent over 3 hours stowing them (as it turned out we had enough food for over the first year and the variety was fantastic).

The next morning it was time to go. The weather was perfect the crew was ready (no hangovers) and there was no reason to hang around any longer. Sad goodbys were said to Frank and Carol and we were off.

Next stop the Bahamas Visitor
